Distribution
Japanese macaques are found in montane forests of Japan.
Life history
- Prenatal
- Embryo MeSH Average gestation period is about 174 days (Mitsunaga et al., 1992).
- Post natal
- Neonate Until 1 month of age.
- Juvenile Until sexual maturity; juveniles are weaned at about 2 years of age.
- Adult Age of sexual maturity is about 3 years for females and for males; lifespan is up to 30 years in captivity.
